Alex & Chloe’s travel diary in Lisbon

Lisbon is a European capital, cosmopolitan and vibrant; I don’t know it yet at my fingertips but I already have « my habits » and a few gems places.

I love « CAMPO D’OURIQUE » (Rua Coehlo da Rocha, Campo de Ourique) in a residential area, Estrela, where it feels nice walking.

For a shopping moment, go to« LX FACTORY »(LX Factory R.Rodrigues Faria 103, Alcantara) ; successful project of urban renewal that occupies a group of large warehouses and abandoned factories dating from the 19th century; while keeping their rough and romantic appearance, they host designer shops, restaurants, bars, and also cultural and artistic events.

Strolling towards Principe Real, a very pleasant central district, stop at « L’EMBAIXADA » (Rua da Escola Politécnica 42, Principe Real), his covered market occupies a former palace of the 17th century and has more than 20 shops offering clothes, shoes, jewellery, and works of art; the building alone is worth the move!

« AMELIE AU THEATRE »,which offers an assortment of contemporary Portuguese designers, very inspiring.

The Lisboet love the good food, and you will find restaurants, everywhere from the smallest to the largest gastro table.
For an on-the-go lunch break, typically Portuguese “petiscos” at « CHIRINGUITO TAPAS BAR »(Rua Correia Teles 31B Campo de Ourique, Estrela), the ingredients are of great quality here and are carefully prepared by the owners, coming from a traditional Portuguese family.
To enjoy the trendy Lisbon atmosphere, go for dinner before going out, at the « MINI BAR » (Rua Antonio Maria Cardosa 58, Chiado), pub-restaurant of the famous chef José Avillez, located in a former theatre; the menu abounds with tapas of Portuguese inspiration.

To feast on fish and seafood, the restaurant « SEA ME » (Rua do Loreto 21, Chiado), this place is defined as a modern fish market, where you can buy to take away or taste on site; copious plate, relaxed atmosphere, warm service.

My favorite Sunday brunch is at « LA BOULANGERIE » (R. do Olival 42, Lapa), great choice of salty and sweet, the best pastries in the city! with a sunny outdoor space.
If you are a fan of chocolate, one of the best cakes at « LANDEAU CHOCOLATE », it's really good !

Also to walk along the Tagus of course, or to embarke on a sailboat for a drink at sunset, always magical.
